Duquesa de Valladolid is Sogrape’s project in Rueda, the Spanish region which is currently in vogue for crisp and aromatic white wines. Winemaker Luisa Freire is an expert in handling aromatic grape varieties, having previously worked at Santiago Ruiz in Rías Baixas. She uses her viticultural and winemaking know-how to elevate the aromatic intensity of Verdejo to a new level.
The wine is light yellow in colour with youthful hues. On the nose, it has tropical aromas of pineapple accompanied by white flowers and hay. On the palate, it has crisp acidity, characteristic of the Verdejo variety and a balanced, lively finish.
