This Cremant du Jura has flavours that you only usually encounter in expensive vintage Champagne that has enjoyed many years careful ageing.

So how does this shortcut on ageing and price come about, you may well ask…

The Jura, nestled between the Alps and Burgundy is famous for their fine ‘Vin Jaune’ “Yellow Wine” which produced from 7 years barrel aging under the influence of the distinctive flor yeasts. For this Cremant a small amount of this ultra-aged wine is added to the sparkling Chardonnay base wine before bottling.  The result is beautiful, a short-cut to a flavour profile that we’ve only encountered in aged high quality  champagne before.

Great to drink as an aperitif or celebration wine this is also a perfect match for the Jura’s famous Comte cheeses
