Bardolino is based on the shores of Lake Garda, not too far from Valpolicella, and for a long time was famous just as a tourist wine drunk in the numerous restaurants along the lake shore. It is now becoming better known outside the area as a great everyday drinking Italian red—soft, medium bodied and easy going.
This has a really inviting nose, full of crushed red berry fruit. The palate is soft with more red fruit flavours and low tannins. Perfect with that mid-week pizza.
