The Single Barrel Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey releases from Evan Williams are always a treat. They’re well made, aged for around 9 years and offer great value for money. Ace. This is the 2004 vintage, which was bottled in 2014.
Nose: Vanilla pod infused sweetness, mixed with cinnamon warmth and a hearty whiff of oak.
Palate: Chewy toffee dominates the palate on entry, followed by rye spice and hints of clove, barrel char and orange peel.
Finish: Lasting oak, caramel and fruit.
Overall: The hits keep coming from Evan Williams’ Single Barrel range.
