The Puy-de-Dôme is just south of the Loire Valley, in central France. Yet another regional French appellation that most of us have never heard of but which, on occasion, can produce really excellent wine at sensible prices
The Cave Saint-Verny is the sole co-operative in the Puy-de-Dôme. Their 115 members have about 200 hectares, meaning the average holding is very small indeed. Winemaker is Olivier Mignard
Medium-bodied Syrah of real elegance, from south of the Loire Valley. A very special, single variety “reserve” wine from the Caves St. Verny. Nicely rounded and mature, with notes of blackberry and spice. Medium bodied and really quite savoury.
