Pale straw with an unctuous texture and green hue. Pronounced varietal aromas of peach, honeysuckle and stone fruits with creamy mineral notes and the nose. Medium bodied, elegant, with crisp balanced acidity, dried apricot and green mango fruit character with a long, intense, mineral finish. 24 months of aging sobre lias (with fine lees) gives the wine a salty, refreshing tang.
El Escocés Volante A.K.A Norrel Robertson MW continues to produce honest and authentic wines from the ‘wild-west’ landscape of Calatayud. Based there since 2003, you only have to see this landscape and small old bush vines to be swept away by the romanticism of a Scotsman working with and against the elements to produce wines with real character. Continuing to offer a punchy Viognier and Garnacha under his ‘El Puño’ label, alongside the brilliant Manga del Brujo, and the rule-breaking Dos Dedos de Frente, while the hugely successful La Multa Garnacha is joined by an Old Vine Garnacha Blanca from DO Terra Alta.
