A juicy and approachable blend of Aragonez, Syrah and Touriga Nacional that’s been partially aged in French oak. Intense aromas of red cherry and plum mingle with toasty oak notes on the nose. The juicy fruit continues on the palate, complemented by smooth tannins and welcome acidity. Pair with pasta dishes, lamb and soft cheeses. Ciconia Tinto combines approachability with Alentejo’s most likeable features of rich, soft fruit, with a bit of roast and dried fruit notes. Unoaked, and doesn’t need or want for it.
Ciconia, for the benefit of non-twitchers, is the latin genus for the stork. And Ciconia Ciconia is the white stork, which so likes to breed in this region.
