This wine is generally made from grapes that have been harvested on the plateaux, on a slightly clayey soil. This results in a soft and light, but relatively dry, wine. Prolonged aging would only cause it to lose its youthful characteristics. It can be aged from 2 to 5 years.
Tasting notes: Colour: vivid, light gold yellow, with a slight hint of green. Nose: expressive, white flowers tending towards iodine. Palate: rounded with a touch of minerality, soft with good length of finish. This well-expressed wine, that is pleasant on the palate, can be enjoyed straight away. It can be drunk at any time of the day, particularly as an aperitif or with lunch. It is a perfect match for ‘charcuterie’ pâtés and deli meats, as well as a number of cooked dishes. Serve at between 10 and 12°C.
Today the Domaine Hamelin dates back over seven generations. Thierry and hisson Charles continue the wine growing activity, perpetuationg the Chablis wine tradition.
The knowledge handed down from generation to generation is a harmonious mix of old traditions and modern-day techniques. Our focus, and the main feature of our Chablis wines, involves keeping the flavour of the ‘terroir’, together with offering our wines maximum generosity and charm.
A well-controlled and thermo-regulated wine making process is essential. Our key priority is to bottle the wine ourselves at the optimal moment, during which the wine is at its most expressive.
Our policy is to listen attentively to our customers.
