BEAUJOLAIS VILLAGES NON FILTRE, Manoir du Carra 2014/15

£11.75

Product Description

“It has a caressing nose of pure strawberries and cream that is very defined and seductive. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannins, lively red cherry fruit and pleasing weight on the tense finish” – Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate

Owned for several generations by the Sambardier family. Vines for this wine are above 60 years old, on granite slopes facing south / south east. The yield is 40-45 hectolitres per hectare – which is about half the average
Vintage: 2014 Another great year for Beaujolais – the third in a row. The wines have intensity and body to match the lively freshness of the Gamay grape
Cellar Potential: Drink young but will keep for 5 years
Food Match: Food is where Beaujolais really scores. Yes it’s a light wine often drunk on its own, but its lively acidity makes it a great match for light meat dishes (roasts obviously, but also cold meats, salami and hams)
