Feitoria is an old Portuguese word for winery and the Lavradores operation is a group of 18 farmers from across the Douro pooling resources to make some really rather impressive wines centrally in Sabrosa under the leadership of winemaker Paolo Ruao.
The Branco is mostly Malvasia with a mix of other Douro white grapes, and is slightly floral with a touch of lime, good weight but never less than fresh, especially on the crisp finish. Lovely on its own but a versatile food wine too.
From a small and very quality concious co-operative of growers in Portugal where typicity is key this Branco is very fresh and clean, with citrus and floral notes and a clean finish. On its own, or with bright fresh salads and boquerones, or artichoke heart in olive oil.
