BEAUNE BASTION PREMIER CRU, Domaine de Chanson 2010

Product Description

The Domaine Chanson cellars were established in Beaune in 1750. The cellars, now owned by Champagne Bollinger, are in one of the bastions of Beaune’s town walls.

Chanson has 40 hectares of vines including 25 hectares of prime vineyards in the Beaune appellation.

The Beaune-Bastion is named after the round fortress in Beaune that forms part of Chanson’s cellars.

The Premiers Crus vineyards of Domaine Chanson are aged in casks in the Bastion cellars. This cuvée is a blend of grapes sourced from selected plots among the Premiers Crus of the Domaine – Beaune Clos du Roi, Beaune Clos des Marconnets, Beaune Bressandes, Beaune Teurons, Beaune Champimonts, Beaune Clos des Mouches and Beaune Clos des Fèves Monopole, all of which have a mix of clay and limestone soils. This association of the different terroirs of Beaune Premiers Crus, and among them the flagships of Chanson, give the wine a unique character and texture. Beaune Bastion 1er cru is aged in French oak for 18 months.
