Fine Burgundy from the excellent Morgeot vineyard. Produced in tiny quantities with great concentration and judicious use of oak casks. One of the best Premier Cru vineyards in Chassagne. These old vines produce tiny quantities of great Burgundy. Almond aromas on the nose with hints of honey, splendid flavour with particularly long finish.
Domaine Bachey-Legros et Fils: The sixth generation of the Bachey family presides over this little domaine of Chassagne Montrachet. Morgeot is arguably the finest of the Premier Cru vineyards in the appellation and this domaine`s vines being more than 75 years old make for low yields and extra concentration. 14 in oak barriques adds to the finesse of this rich white Burgundy. In Chassagne white wines ate the best, but the red example is much more rich and full bodied than is normal for the appellation due to the incredibly low yields from this vineyard which was planted in 1914.
